Dearest Friends and Patients,
It is with great enthusiasm that I am writing our, now traditional, end-of-the-year letter. I hope it finds you in good health and enjoying a restful time with your families and loved ones.
The end of the year marks our practice anniversary as well. It has been seven years already. This year, more than ever, I felt I have developed strong meaningful relationships with my loyal patients. Some of you have joined me on this journey since the very beginning. The most memorable moments are when you allow me to witness and share with me your lives, changing careers, starting families, having children, and watching them grow. My profession is challenging on my body and at times stressful, but your friendships have made it that much easier and enjoyable to come to work everyday.
I am happy and grateful to let you know that we still do not have to advertise outside of the office, as our most powerful source of patient referral is you. Like any other business, some months have been slower than others, but we managed to do as good as last year. I think in seven years, our practice has reached a level of financial stability based on a strong patient base. You always ask how things go at the office, and I am always happy to share the situation with you and grateful for your genuine concern.
The biggest and hardest change in the practice this year, as many of you already know, was to let Candice go. Candice was my office coordinator for more than five years. She was loyal, caring, and served the practice well. She moved on to another career she is more passionate about. On a happy note, Drea, my back assistant of almost four years, made the transition as seamless as possible by having the courage to step up and take the position of office coordinator. I can assure you, it is not an easy task. I am grateful and lucky to have a good winning team of professionals working with me. Our goal is to always make your experience as positive as possible. Ellie has most probably cleaned your teeth more than once, as she has been our amazing hygienist for three years now. Rebecca, my clinical assistant is a gem, not only has she demonstrated an unusual level of energy and hard work, her level of care is deep and unconditional. Taylor, our newest dental assistant, has been a great addition. She is friendly, energetic, and a dedicated team player.
On a personal note, I have taken more time off this year - from longer weekends to smaller five-day vacations. I realize it is important to keep a healthy balance in my life, as I tend to overwork myself. I am still working on that three-week vacation in the Bahamas though! J I officially have two teenage children in the house. My son Kenan is 15 and is a freshman in high school. My daughter Anya is 13 and is in 8th grade. I’m sure I’ve shared this with most of you: it’s not easy! And it would not be possible without the help of my wonderful husband, Djamal. As always, he is my main emotional support source.
Three years ago, I started the free teeth cleaning campaign, and it has been very successful. For those of you that are new to our office, we have been extending the courtesy of a free teeth cleaning to our patients that have been affected by the decline of the economy either by loosing a job or benefits. Even though, my wish is that you all enjoy good, healthy, productive jobs and lives, it is my pleasure to extend that offer in the coming year as well.
Finally and most importantly, I like to take this time and express my deepest sense of gratitude to you, my dear patients. I am grateful to you, for your business, and the trust you put in me. Without you, I would not have a practice. I appreciate every one of you and all of your great referrals that help build my practice. For me, it’s never about just fixing teeth and running a business. I hope you feel and know my passion for my work and building relationships with you.
I wish you all happy holidays and a healthy and prosperous new year. Thank you once again for your continued support.
Kindest Regards,
Soraya Bouzida, DDS
